Multiple Injured Parties in the Same Vehicle

February 8, 2017 Ann Jacobs

Q: If I get injured in a car accident that wasn’t my fault and my passenger gets injured too, can both of us hire you?

The answer to that is “It depends.”

To a certain extent, there can be a conflict of interest. On the other hand, it can be what’s called a “waivable conflict of interest,” which is to say, where we can simply agree that we are going to give up the conflict of interest.

It becomes a very fact-specific situation. I would normally bring everybody in to meet with the lawyer, and the lawyer will know how to sort that out.
